This morning I read an interesting article on a website called Mashable. If you’re not familiar with the site, “Mashable is the largest independent news source dedicated to covering digital culture, social media and technology. Mashable reports on the importance of digital innovation and how it empowers and inspires people around the world.”
The article was titled “How Businesses Use Social Media for Recruiting” by Erica Swallow and featured an infographic compiled by CareerEnlightenment.com. A few of the stats I found interesting are:
• 92% of hiring managers in 2010 used or plan to recruit via social networks
• 86% of employers say candidates should make their profiles more employer-friendly
• 65% of companies have successfully hired via social media
